                            Kelly Athena, Author




                            Kelly lives in the beautiful Sonoran Desert at the outskirts of Phoenix, Arizona.  She has been writing since her first illustrated book, Batman Goes to the Zoo, came out in second grade.  She lives with her husband, Jackson, and her  black and white tuxedo cat, Jake.  Raccoons are nightly visitors to her back yard.  She teaches How to Write, Publish, and Promote Your Book at a local community college. 

                            Kelly Athena grew up in the lush landscapes of Northern California.   She earned a Master’s degree in Music/piano performance from San Jose State University, and a Master of Photography degree from the Professional Photographers of America, She also received certificates in Life Coaching, Dream Coaching, and Energy Work from the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. 

                            She has worked as a piano teacher, choir leader, and care center activity director.  She is the past president of a county arts council and a professional photography association.  She has made Arizona her home since 1986.  She and Jackson owned a successful photography business for many years, and still do head shots and family portraits at their home studio, Athena Portraits.  Kelly was named Arizona Photographer of the Year in 2000. 

                            Kelly  now dedicates her time to her creative passions of writing, art, performing and recording music and audio books, and developing her internet presence with the intent of inspiring others to live their lives to the fullest.
